The prophecy in Ezekiel 38-39 is a part two of a three-part prophecy concerning Israel.  The previous chapters focus on its rebirth.  This prophecy concerns Israel's rescue and salvation in the face of a foreign invastion. And the third prophecy focuses on the ultimate return of the King of king and Lord of lords during His 1000-year reign on the earth.  The Ezekiel 38-39 prophecy is significant for many reasons, among them

(1) that this event re-establishes God's presence on the earth as Israel's protector and Lord,

(2) that it paves the way for events during the Tribulation period, and

(3) it may be that believers currently alive will see this event prior to the rapture.
